After several months of planning and development, I’m happy to announce the launch of Anderson Web Solutions. We’re officially open for business.

I initially began working out the details of this site about a year ago. At the time, my WordPress experience was still somewhat limited, and some of the things I’ve done with the site weren’t within the reach of my skill level. As the year progressed, my skills developed to the point where I felt that I could offer them to others. Last summer I purchased the necessary server space and began initial development. I went through a number of designs and business model ideas before settling on the current ones.

The design is pretty straight forward, though I’m relying on a few meta values on posts to support its CMS like structure. I’ve added more JavaScript to this design than I’ve ever done before. Doing this has made me fall even more in love with jQuery. Before I began using jQuery, JavaScript was my least favorite part of web page development. Now, it’s almost my favorite.

The business model I chose is a per-hour service charge (rather than a per-service charge). This allows me to charge people for what they really get. Someone with a simple problem will be charged less than someone with a complex problem. Not only that, but even if a problem seems challenging at first, if the solution ends up being simpler than expected, the client is only charged for the time the project takes, so they really win.
